\$\begingroup\$ @FryAmTheEggman If the floating point requirement is dropped, the best I can figure out is to forget the multiplication trick entirely and do e+choice([0,k]) \$\endgroup\$

\$\begingroup\$ Ah quite right, nice way to avoid multiplying. That said the floating point requirement was removed so you can change your answer to that instead. \$\endgroup\$
