Check out this announcement about a newly-available XML certification: XML Master
This announcement was just released today. All I know about it is what's accessible via the above hyperlink.

I took the XML Master Basic test today, and passed with a score of 87%.
Here's the breakdown:
  • 88% xml
  • 100% xslt
  • 100% dtd
  • 50% xmlschema
  • 0% xpath
  • 100% dom/namespace

  • I haven't taken IBM 141 yet (maybe I'll take it next week), so I can't give a comparison.
In studying, I was focusing a lot on XSLT. But it turns out there were only 3 or 4 questions (out of 40) on that.
As I finished the test, I thought my score would have been a little higher. I'm surprised I only got 0% for XPATH. I suppose there's some subtle questions.
I was worried initially about the time limit (60 minutes). But I actually finished in just 40 minutes, since I wanted to get back to work.

I took IBM 141 today and passed with a score of 76%. 141 is a little harder than XML Master Basic.

I received the certificate yesterday from Japan. It took six weeks. This one is vertically oriented. It doesn't say "XML Master Basic", but rather says "XML Master".
