HI Mahesh,
Welcome to the world of Java. I'm fairly new myself and am also studying for SCJP. My advice, take a look at some of the books recommended in the Bunkhouse here at Javaranch, pop your head round the door of the Big Moose Saloon as often as possible, take the assignments in the Cattle Drive, and do as many mock exams as you can. Don't even think about the real exam until you are averaging at least 85% on the mocks, and be prepared to study hard and learn a LOT of stuff.
It's all good fun though, especially here at Javaranch since we're all friends travelling on the same road.
Good Luck
