JSP -> Struts -> Session Beans -> DAO's
we want to maintain transaction in session beans. can container itself manage transactions for session beans in this scenario? or should we maintain while coding?

Hibernate:
Can i use hibernate inplace of DAO's in the above senario? What are the benifits to be added by Hibernate,if i go for hibernate?

Any transactions started in the session beans will propagate into the DAOs (and then into hibernate if used with DAOs), so no problem.

As for hibernate, this may help.
