The law requires prevailing wages to be paid to H1B holders. While those may be around 48K in some places, I've seen people paid twice that. Bottom line: It depends a lot on the circumstances, and I would expect that to be true of other visa types as well.

That depends on your definition of "worth". Are you talking purely about monetary compensation, or would other factors be worth something to you as well?

The max. time you can be on L1B visa in US is 5 years.
If I recall correctly, a blanket L1B is issued for a year and an individual L1B, for 3 years. Both of them can be extended.
There's no specific wage or salary to be paid on L1: some people get a full US salary, others get some kind of "living allowance" and their home country salary. I guess depends on the tax laws/agreements between US and your country.
Regarding saving money, depends on your salary, the cost of living of the place you're living, your lifestyle, etc.

That is not a generally true statement. There is not be a prevailing wage requirement for the L-1, but there are plenty of employers who pay L-1 holders the same or more than H-1 holders.
You are making a fundamental error if you believe that visa status automatically determines compensation.
