Another good idea would be to gain the experience that is required for an Architect. Your post says that just since one month you are working in Java. So I would advice you to get more experience and widen your knowledge in different technologies and frameworks, give some certifications.

His post says "How to become a software architect" and it does not say "Will be a software architect now"

Just a suggestion, we have meaningless drive for kidding. These are serious discussions. As a professionals we should be careful, because these discussions will be read / referred later by others and topic starter is seriously asking advice.

You are welcome.
Topics in job discussions are very serious and related to complete career. They should not be made fun and we should not discourage for any one to ask advice even if questions apparently looks silly to others. But it is serious question for topic starter. When I was fresher I did not even know where should I ask how to become software architect.

I was serious in answering the original post "How to become a Software Architect", but the moment I saw him mentioning just one month into programming in Java, I liked his attitude. He seems to aim big. But he needs to realize that he is too early for that. Probably he should better ask, "How to become an effective Java Programmer" given his current experience.
My advice for a path towards a Java architect will be as below:
(1) Good programming skills in Java - Go through Effective Java by Joshua Bloch
(2) SCJP, SCWCD, SCBCD, SCDJWS, SCEA certifications
(3) Experience in designing and developing multitude of applications across multitude of domains
(4) OOAD & UML modelling skills
Atleast the above four should be the basic things that needs to be met. So just match where you are with respect to the above four and you will realize yourself.
By the way, my intention was not to make fun of anything. Even I passed through the same path early in my career where I was unclear as to which programming language to specialize in. I can understand the enthusiasm here. Don't take anything serious. Relax and keep enjoying Javaranch!
