I Downloaded apache-tomcat-7.0.40 for window 8 and i follow the instruction by using the C:\apache-tomcat-7.0.40> startup.bat at my cmd and the tomcat appear for 1 seconds and disappear again so i was thinking may be the documents installation is not enough. What should i do? while my localhost is IIS and if my Tomcat is not stable there will be no way for me to deploy Servlet and JSP.

http://tomcat.apache.org/download-70.cgi

Under Binary Distrubutions

Under Core

Download windows 32/64 bit window installer.

Just run it .

You can check for tomcat in your Drive at eg: C:Program Files /Apache Software Foundation and you can explore you tomcat version and other files buy exploring in.

For Running your servlets or jsp you can do that in two approaches.

1 . Having tomcat configured inside you ide and executing there.

2. Placing your servlets or jsp inside web apps folder and restarting your tomcat. You can execute your servlets or jsp using tomcat manager.
