I wonder if I am the first here who passed this exam? It was announced less than 3 months ago.
I used official Java EE 7 Tutorial and JEE specifications (JPA, JMS, EJB, Servlet, JSP, WebSockets)
This is a very difficult exam IMHO. I passed it only because I have almost all Java EE 6 certifications (except JSF)
Good luck to everyone !
Cheers,
MZ

I am planning to give it and i am wondering how it was that difficult, because i saw that the exam topic were very limited. For example for JPA and Web Components there are just few topics if you compare with the specific certifications exam.
Is the difficulty related with the time you have?

Well done.... and I think you will be one of the first and one of the few
The java EE-certification stuff is nearly dead since Oracle took over (...and gave it away)

Yes, I fully agree. For unknown reason Oracle has changed from 5..6 specialized exams to 1 generic exam.
For example, I doubt a person will take generic exam when only expert in Web Development (Servlets , JSP, JSF) for example, or expert specifically in JPA.
IIRC, initially Oracle wanted to separate Java EE in 2 exams : backend and frontend, which might be more reasonable. But putting all in 1 exam - that's too big number of topics.

I did not have difficulty with time, and I took this exam only because I have almost full set of Java EE 6 exams under my belt.
If a person studies from zero, it would be extremely difficult. For example I got 2 questions on Java EE Batch API, and it's a big topic itself. Lot's of questions on WebSockets -- new technology for Java EE.

I'm now preparing for the OCP exam, but the JEE 7 certification would be a good next step, right?

It will very interesting to know how many questions per topic are on the exam. This information is on right side of your score report.
Could you please send it to this thread.
Thanks.

thank you very much for your reply. It is already very helpful for me.
In your Study Guide for Web Services 6 you had a detailed list of stuff, which is potentially an exam topic.
Do you have the same thing for this exam! Just a detailed TOC. That would be very very very helpful!!!
Thank you in advance.

I'm gonna attempt this certification.
Honestly, I don't think I have the level for this, since, as stated above, it's a very generic exam, covering lots of different aspects of Java, including some I have barely worked with...
But then again, my company has already bought me a voucher, so I might as well give it my all.
I was wondering what documents were authorized during the exam?
They made it very clear that any form of cheating would lead to sanctions beyond invalidating the exam, and that one would have to strictly stick to the authorized material.
However... What I couldn't find was a list of authorized material...
For instance, is the official Java EE 7 tutorial ( https://docs.oracle.com/javaee/7/JEETT.pdf ) wich you recommanded for studying authorized?

You are not allowed any document/book/specification during exam.
Only blank plastic board and marker, which you return when you're done.

No books exist for this exam,
as far as I understand test creators mostly used Java EE tutorial and specifications (JSRs).

I have only 1Z0-808 and 1Z0-809. I'd like to study Java EE and to take the certification. I think it is fundamental to study framework like Spring or Struts, isn't it?
In your opinion, if I study from the link of the official tutorial official tutorial of Java EE 7 (about 1000 pages) and then if I use this book "Java EE 7: The Big Picture"?
Couldn't they be sufficient? If not, can you list me all the resources to prepare this certification?
Thanks a lot!
