- If I use the latest full backup, then do I need to ensure that the log backup that I will apply on top of it covers the time when full backup was taken? So should I use 11pm onwards log backup?variable– variable2021-09-29 11:22:06 +00:00Commented Sep 29, 2021 at 11:22
- No backup are 100% sure... if your last full backup ended up "corrupted" or lost, you usually have the B plan which is to restore the previous full/diff and ALL the log from this backup to the time you want to restore to. Taking a manual log backup and deleting that file will make this B plan not working. Now... Why do you need to do a manual log backup ? why don't you do that backup with your backup tool (presuming the automatic backups are done with a backup tool)Dominique Boucher– Dominique Boucher2021-09-29 12:13:25 +00:00Commented Sep 29, 2021 at 12:13

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. sql-server), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
