A visit for a few days with my daughter and her husband near Susanville CA.

My plane ticket from my phone, of course this window disappeared when I went to get on the plane and I had to reload. Paper ticket for the trip back home.

The view from my bedroom window.

Daughter Heather with dog Harry getting water from the hose by her greenhouse.

A painting that I did a few years ago of the area that heather has hanging on her wall. I found out I can get a copy made on canvas via Amazon of any painting  or picture.

Looking back at the house and out buildings.

Mothers Day brunch at a farm in upstate NY

A ten day stay in Hartsdale with my son and his wife and my granddaughter. My daughter came also from the Reno area and stayed for five days. It coincided with Mothers Day! We traveled around and took a set of formal photos on one of the rainy days. My husband and Heathers husband stayed at home to care for our horses !!

The second big rain of the season

Temperatures at about 60 deg F and a nice big storm. This will be good now until next year, if we do not have any more rain.

Rain at last

Last year and the two years before we had very wet winters with rain starting in October and lasting on and off through March. Then we always have no rain for the remaining months, except for a shower or two. I have an elaborate irrigation system to water my garden here in Southern California. This winter we are  having a "dry" winter and probably will for the next one or two winters before we go back into wet winters. I am explaining just in case a reader thinks Oh No Climate Change. Also this area has always had wild fires when the Santa Ana winds pick up in the fall. When you have lived here for a while and studied the history as I have, you learn that there are certain areas that will always burn and ones where you are relatively safe. I am enjoying having some rain very much and one of the things that I usually do after  the first rain is a Spring cleaning, that means a lot of dusting. I like to watch inspirational videos on you tube. My favorite cleaning one is Midwest Magic. He and his son use swiffers to dust. I had forgotten that I had the long handled swiffer as well as the short handled one and a whole box of new dusting pads. YAY ! I have now completed the whole house including the ceiling fans. I then wash all the  dusting pads and reuse then.

Here are some photos of my garden in the rain.

A selling spree

Several silver spoons a watch a bracelet and a horse brass ( upside down again )

So while we are waiting for the plumbers to finish filling in deep pits, and for the road to be dug up next week. I am revisiting all the stuff that we brought home from my MIL house after she died at least two years ago now. I have already sorted a lot of the silver and jewelry and sold them on where else but the amazing Ebay !! So to help make a dent in the 36K bill for the new septic lines, I am once again going through the tedium of sorting, photographing and listing some more stuff that we will never use and our kids will probably give away or throw in the trash. I have to discipline myself to go over one item at a time and research it. Below are two rings that I will never wear. that I have currently listed.
