Where can I purchase ferry or bus tokens?

The Bermuda public ferrys and buses do accept cash however tokens & passes are available for purchase on the Bermuda Government’s newest portal for your public transportation needs.

What's the best way to get to Horseshoe Bay?

Horseshoe Bay is Bermuda’s most popular beach and is located on Bermuda’s South Shore, around a 20 minute drive away from Dockyard.  There are a few ways to travel to Horseshoe from Dockyard including the following:

1. Mini Bus – While cruise ships are in port, there’s a line of mini buses which offer paid shuttle services back and forth to Horseshoe Bay and other locations on island.

2. Public Bus – Guests can catch the public bus from the front of the Clocktower Mall. The bus travels along southshore offering stops at most public beaches. Be sure to ask your bus driver for guidance on when to get off the bus.

3. Taxi – There’s a taxi stand located on the cruise ship pier where visitors can hire a ride directly to the beach or location of their choice.

4. Rentals – Visitors can rent mopeds or electric cars from Dockyard and drive to the beach!

What's the best way to get to Crystal Caves?

Crystal Caves is one of Bermuda’s most popular attractions. It’s located in the east end which is roughly an hour drive in a car from Dockayard. There are a few ways to travel there from Dockyard.

1. Mini Bus – While cruise ships are in port, there’s a line of mini buses which offer paid shuttle services back and forth to Crystal Caves and other locations on island.

2. Public Bus – Guests can catch the public bus from the front of the Clocktower Mall. The bus will take you to the bus terminal in the heart of “town” aka the city of Hamilton. From here you will need to transfer to a different bus to continue travelling to the east side. Be sure to ask your bus driver for guidance on when to get off the bus. For more information regarding the bus routes and which bus to take, be sure to check in at the Visitor Service Centre in Dockyard. Alternatively most locals are friendly and more than willing to help visitors with information.

3. Taxi – There’s a taxi stand located on the cruise ship pier where visitors can hire a ride directly to the location of their choice. Taxi’s will also frequent Crystal Caves so it should be easy to catch one back. Alternatively you can ask your taxi driver to pick you back up. 

4. Rentals – Visitors can rent mopeds or electric cars from Dockyard and drive to crystal caves.

Where is the closest beach to Dockyard?

The closest beach is located right in Dockyard! Snorkel Park Beach Club offers white sandy beaches, a bar and relaxing loungers for guests of all ages and is a convenient 5-minute walk from the cruise ship pier. Looking for a more peaceful beach? You can also visit Sea Glass Beach or Black Bay, which are both a 30 minute walk from the cruise pier, or a 5 minute ride by bus or taxi. Both beaches are located on the main road leaving Dockyard, with a bus stop located conveniently across the street.

When does the courtesy shuttle operate?

The courtesy shuttle is a complimentary service provided by the Royal Naval Dockyard to allow visitors to travel around the destination more conveniently. Where can I find an ATM in Dockyard?

There is an ATM conveniently located right in the heart of Dockyard behind the Visitor Service Center. Note this HSBC ATM only dispenses Bermudian dollars.
