Oct 30, 2013 at 19:03 comment added jippie I have a bunch of 20 to 25 year old red LED's lying around and those are visibly slower than new ones. New ones are much snappier in turning on and off. On the other hand, you can easily stare in one of those old LED's @20mA, whereas the modern ones hurt your eyes when you do so.

Oct 28, 2013 at 9:19 comment added Connor Wolf Interesting question! I normally think of LEDs as having no time constant that isn't related to the purely electrical characteristics, but that's likely an entirely naive impression.
