Ubuntu 24.04 is picking up /usr/share/applications/emacsclient.desktop instead of /usr/share/applications/emacs.desktop, as told by https://emacs.stackexchange.com/a/82976/26185.

So it launches Emacs(client), which ignores my ~/.emacs.d/.emacs.desktop.

How can this be fixed?

I hid those emacsclient* files (by sudo renaming them). Now launching emacs gets me Emacs(GUI), and that honors my emacs.desktop
