embodiment is a community that began in 2005 with the goal to write in our paper journals every day for a year. Be it through words or art, this place draws journal hobbyists together where we can all share our work with one another.



The following is the modified Community Guidelines for embodiment as originally created by crissy. Some guidelines may be altered by current or future maintainers. Please refer to announcements for updates. Thank you!

Embodiment Community Guidelines

The purpose of this paper journal project is to write &/or create every day for a year - or whenever possible. Feel free to post your entries in this community as often as you like! It's recommended to share several pages at once under an LJ-cut. To be courteous, extensive entries of any kind should be summarized with everything else placed under the LJ-cut.

Posting photos or scans is encouraged but not required for participation in this community. To be courteous, please limit your posts to one main photo, with additional and/or larger photos placed under an LJ-cut tag. Clickable thumbnails (max: 100x100) or squares (75x75) may be posted without a cut.

NSFW, nudity, violence and triggering or possibly offensive material should be placed under the LJ-cut. You ARE permitted to post nudity and/or sensitive material, but it MUST be properly announced and LJ-cut. Please be respectful of other members and keep in mind that minors might also be watching this community.

Please do not use the embodiment community for promotional purposes. (i.e. "Share this post / tweet this to be part of my give-away!") If you are interested in trading journals within the community, please see this post. It is okay to share the link to your twitter / blog / youtube channel (etc) in the context of an on topic post within the community but spam makes things awkward.

If you miss a day (or number of days, weeks, months) - if you have stopped writing / creating for any reason - don't beat yourself up! You do not need to wait for a new year to begin again. Write (again) now.
