    Hi all.

I used to use TMPGEnc Smart Render 4 to convert my M2TS files (joined using txMuxer) to MXF files. I use Adobe Premiere to do Multicam Editing and MXF files give me the best performance.

When I upgraded to Windows 11, Smart Render wouldn't even load. I tried countless uninstalls and installs, running as administrator and compatibility mode and nothing worked. So I decided to go the freeware route.

I tried XMedia Recode but the audio would not pass through to the mxf files.I even tried the latest version but same issue persists. After much experimentation, I decided to try other freeware gui based ffmpeg software. I settled on FFMPEG Batch AV Converter. I really like it!

However, I am still having issues. The conversion (Rewrap) to MXF works, but when I import the files into Premiere, they play back in slow motion (for some reason, FFMPEG Batch AV Converter changes the framerate) AND play back stutters, so much so that I can't do a proper edit. The slow motion did NOT happen when I first tried FFMPEG Batch AV Converter. BTW, when FFMPEG Batch AV Converter did NOT change the framerate, the video still stuttered.

Following are the Mediainfo files for both the Smart Render 4 MXF followed by the FFMPEG Batch AV Converter MXF files.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated:

  2. The second video is not only remuxed, but is reencoded.
An unnecessary step. The MXF container supports avc video and PCM audio, so there is no need to reencode.
If your source M2TS video contains audio tracks other than PCM audio, all you need to do is convert those audio tracks to PCM and then multiplex them with the AVC video track into an MXF file.

You can do this with clever FFmpeg-GUI.
    Load your m2ts video.
If it contains already avc/pcm then click multiplex, set mxf as container, click multiplex. Done.
If the audio is other than pcm, click convert audiostream, convert the audiostream/s to pcm, click multiplex, set the streams on the left, set mxf as container, click multiplex. Done.

The problem is the corel driver.
    Unistall TMPGEnc Smart Render 4.

    Google for
tmpgenc smart renderer 4 corel driver install issues windows 11
    Read the AI answer carefully.

    1) Disable Windows 11 Kernel Isolation (Core Isolation/Memory Integrity)
    2) Restart your computer
    3) Reinstall TMPGEnc Smart Render 4
    4) Check if it works
    3) If not, start it in compatibility mode (for Windows 7)

I tried what you suggested in post #4 but TMPGENC Smart Render 4 still won't open. I'm just going to move on from it. When I can, I'll upgrade to version 6. The trial works perfectly.

I also tried Clever FFMPEG_GUI. It did produce the mfx file, but the file is still jerky when I import and play it in Adobe Premiere.

Thanks for your help with all of this.

Then was jerky the m2ts source file too.
clever with ffmpegs MXF muxer simply multiplexes the streams; they are not altered in any way.
The only thing to keep in mind when using the MXF muxer is that the GOPs shouldn't be too large (max 128 frames).

The original files are not jerky. TMPGENC Smart Render 4 nor Smart Render 6 trial version didn't produce any jerky files.
Magix Vegas reencodes the video and takes a long time to do the conversion.
