| That would be awesome! If meshtastic worked around the globe with missing connections covered by internet. E.g. if one of people in the local mesh net had access to the internet -- all should be able to utilize it so send international messages. Strong upvote! |

| I wrote my first alpha draft of this here. I only tested with my rak4631. You wont be able to connect the meshtastic phone app with this firmware though. but it does forward bitchat messages over lora, and unwraps them on the other side. both meshtastic devices will need to be running this firmware. https://github.com/evansmj/firmware-bitchat-plugin/tree/feature/bitchat-plugin |

Bitchat seems aligned with meshtastic's architecture/principles and this feature request proposes a bridge mode be created. I'm not knowledgeable enough to understand the technical details, but I understand that most devices leverage BT to connect to a phone or other device for management. I propose leveraging those existing BT pathways to bridge between bitchat users and meshtastic, allowing messages to flow bi-directionally. This would extend bitchat's range and enable broader interoperability for meshtastic with adjacent protocols.
