I had to add the following to my User model, since there was no way to resolve what user was related to the user object itself.

User.php:

// ... protected function resolveUser(): static { return $this; } // ...

e.g. use in LoginController.php:

I have found that I didn't actually need to do this, and the problem was in fact that I needed to update the config/audit.php file to include the new user=>['resolver'] part.

@owen-it I think the docs need an upgrade guide please!

I'm not sure what happened but all the links in https://github.com/owen-it/laravel-auditing/releases/tag/v13.0.0 were broken, I've fixed them now

I was wrong, I updated directly from 12 to 14, and somehow missed the upgrade page in the docs.
