Since Cinnamon is going to its own backend, maybe it's good time to add an option to disable compositing?

I'm testing computer config for gaming and when Cinnamon is running in software mode (so no compositing), it's performance is a lot better as system doesn't take GPU power.

Hovewer software mode is not supposed to be run in this situation, it's only workaround - so maybe there is a way to add such option to Cinnamon?
