Dec 19, 2021 at 12:21 comment added kukako-muka This bug still persists in v13 .0 . The old test code results in otherwise identical output, including (by visual inspection) the graphs, but there is now an error message in the middle, right after defining "polyQ" RegionMember function . Testing on two Linux machines gave apparently the same error message. The message is rather long, but only the last line looks substantially different from others. Here the first line: Part::partw: Part 4294967297 of {{200.,100.},{200.,300.},{100.,300.},{100.,200.},{0.,200.},{0.,100.},{250.,0.},{250.,400.},{200.,400.},{200.,0.}} does not exist.

Dec 19, 2015 at 18:12 comment added ilian The incorrect result in the exact case is coming from an internal triangulation routine, Graphics`PolygonUtils`PolygonTriangulate[polygon].

Dec 19, 2015 at 17:46 comment added Simon Woods polyQ // InputForm reveals a difference between the exact and machine precision versions. For the latter it uses a MeshRegion, but for the former it contains an implicit member function which is presumably not quite correct.
Dec 19, 2015 at 16:04 comment added Kuba With polygonPoints = N@polygonPoints works well.
