    These can be overridden manually right now, but that's not directly exposed to moderators. We should at least try to get the automatic selection working first (new sites in particular need that), but making this easy to change for moderators would be a good idea IMHO.     @Shog9 how are they currently picked? Looks like mostly by length of posts, multiple answers, at least one comment? Maybe ignoring posts with too many answers, community wiki posts are posts with downvotes might yield more questions that are good rather than popular? Commented Jan 10, 2013 at 17:48

  • On SU right now it's something about spraying corn syrup on daisies, so I'm guessing they decided to put some generic placeholder or something? Or did somebody mistype superuser.com as gardening.stackexchange.com? Commented Jan 11, 2013 at 19:57
