- 4I believe the plan was that new-MSO started counting post IDs at (last old-MSO post ID + 1), and IDs below that got redirected to MSE.michaelb958--GoFundMonica– michaelb958--GoFundMonica2014-04-09 12:31:58 +00:00Commented Apr 9, 2014 at 12:31
- 1That's precisely how we're going to do it. The first MSO (new) post ID will be the last MSE post ID +1, anything below it just redirects. We're also rebaking content to correct links where we control them, and not relying solely on the redirects to work.user50049– user500492014-04-09 13:57:23 +00:00Commented Apr 9, 2014 at 13:57
- 3@TimPost why not a review queue? :P A couple hundred thousand posts shouldn't take too long, right?Cole Tobin– Cole Tobin2014-04-10 02:15:38 +00:00Commented Apr 10, 2014 at 2:15
- 2@TimPost But you'll re-redirect (or not redirect at all) if it was a question moved from Meta.SE to Meta.SO, like those few hundred Stack Overflow questions, right? (Just checking! Redirection loops/failures on day 1 would be good to avoid.)doppelgreener– doppelgreener2014-04-11 07:25:39 +00:00Commented Apr 11, 2014 at 7:25
- Right. The way redirects work, we should be able to get a URL that points at MSO redirecting to MSE redirecting via a migration path back to MSO without much drama.Shog9– Shog9 StaffMod2014-04-14 21:28:44 +00:00Commented Apr 14, 2014 at 21:28

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. stack-overflow), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
