- 2Who can see redacted revisions? Any mod?user152859– user1528592022-08-24 09:52:24 +00:00Commented Aug 24, 2022 at 9:52
- @ShadowTheKidWizard Nope - after a redaction is complete - mods can see that a redaction happened but not what the redacted content was. I believe you have to be a CM to be able to see the actual content.Jon Clements– Jon Clements2022-08-24 14:46:03 +00:00Commented Aug 24, 2022 at 14:46
- 2Redacted revisions aren't accessible to any non-staff member, @ShadowTheKidWizard. And it's not easy for staff members to get access to them either — the revisions are purged from the DB, so we'd only be able to access them if that revision made its way to an old back-up.JNat– JNat StaffMod2022-08-24 15:12:32 +00:00Commented Aug 24, 2022 at 15:12
- @JNat so it's hard deletion (that's exactly the definition for purged from the DB), just getting a catchy short name. :)user152859– user1528592022-08-24 16:41:23 +00:00Commented Aug 24, 2022 at 16:41
- 2guess the distinction I was trying to make at the time was that the way we purge the content is different: before, the whole revision would be gone, and now we redact only part of it. Feel free to edit to make it more technically correct if you will, @ShadowTheKidWizard ;)JNat– JNat StaffMod2022-08-24 17:34:03 +00:00Commented Aug 24, 2022 at 17:34
- The answer is fine. Thanks! :)user152859– user1528592022-08-24 17:57:02 +00:00Commented Aug 24, 2022 at 17:57

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. stack-overflow), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
