    No, this migration is not going to touch chat. It's only going to touch posts (questions and answers) across the network. Personally I think we should keep things consistent (and that includes chat and other places) but it's an entirely different can of worms. Commented Jun 1, 2020 at 11:58

    @HamVocke - so it doesn't affect comments either? Commented Jun 1, 2020 at 11:59

    Correct! Comments won't be affected. Commented Jun 1, 2020 at 12:09

    Adding my voice here - now we're running 3 different, distinct dialects of markdown (Main, comments and chat) , and it would be really nice to have subsets of one running everywhere. Commented Jun 1, 2020 at 12:30

    @Ham talking about can of worms, what will happen to Area 51? Will it be affected? Commented Jun 1, 2020 at 12:36

    @ShadowKeepsSocialDistance I don't know of anywhere on Area 51 that even use post Markdown. All the boxes there would use the watered-down comments Markdown system. The Area 51 meta site already runs off the same code as any other meta site. Commented Jun 1, 2020 at 12:56
