- 6As your answer proves (we're rendering this one with CommonMark already) it continues to work. I'm not here to tell you what to do but if your reason for using HTML over Markdown was Markdown's quirks, things might have become more reasonable now that we've switched to CommonMark and you might want to give it a try. Mixing HTML and Markdown has been and continues to be a hot take as it can result in really hard-to-predict behavior.Ham Vocke– Ham Vocke StaffMod2020-06-07 10:53:38 +00:00Commented Jun 7, 2020 at 10:53
- @HamVocke I see, thanks. I'll think about switching back later, but for now I'll stick to XHTML.Ainar-G– Ainar-G2020-06-07 12:07:13 +00:00Commented Jun 7, 2020 at 12:07

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. stack-overflow), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
