A user's title helps us understand a little bit about their level of their English knowledge, electronics/programming knowledge and laziness even before we jump to the question.

When reading the question, I always have in the back of my mind the title, until I see the user's actual question(s). So the title is something that I "take with me" while reading the question.

If the title is auto generated these things are taken away and if the question is really short (which sometimes is), I don't have much to judge overall.

EDIT:

Forgot to mention, a title generated by the user, shows how the human thinks in order to ask a question. Other people looking for their similar issue, will think like the user would, not the AI to ask the question. So it is easier for people looking for the same issue to find titles generated by humans rather than AI.

Don't forget, it is a website to ask questions that (probably) cannot be solved by AI. Otherwise we would use Chatgpt and not the website.

Other than that, yes it is a nice thing to have but I suggest:

  1. Let it be available after a certain reputation level.
  2. Or/And let the user(s) enable that feature in the settings, don't have it enabled by default.
