- 37If the data was published it might make it easier to debunk the nonsense...Rory Alsop– Rory Alsop2023-06-07 21:29:02 +00:00Commented Jun 7, 2023 at 21:29
- 7I don't think it was ever done on time. It's a very complex process, hence always failing at some point. I consider it a miracle when it's actually working and there is actually a data dump. (Kind of like launching a spaceship.)user152859– user1528592023-06-08 07:08:20 +00:00Commented Jun 8, 2023 at 7:08
- 19@ShadowWizardStrikesBack rude...I disagree that it was never done on time. :)Taryn– Taryn2023-06-08 14:01:55 +00:00Commented Jun 8, 2023 at 14:01
- 16@ShadowWizardStrikesBack I can confirm it has been frequently late since Taryn left. 🤣 The upload to the Archive would frequently hang and need baby sitting. That said, we actually resolved that recently, so the data dump wouldn't be late anymore.anon– anon2023-06-08 15:31:13 +00:00Commented Jun 8, 2023 at 15:31
- 28I'm hoping someone from the Company gives an official response soon. Having been recently laid off, I'm not in a position to give a complete/official answer here... But if there's no official response soon, I'll jump in with what I can offer.anon– anon2023-06-08 15:34:41 +00:00Commented Jun 8, 2023 at 15:34
- 13Aaron just took the metaphorical slaps for me, by handling the public comms. It was the other redundant DBRE who got the process running smoothly, and me pointing and crying when I had to manually upload files after it got hung.anon– anon2023-06-08 20:42:06 +00:00Commented Jun 8, 2023 at 20:42
- 5An uncharitable observer might conclude the data contradicts the company's narrative. I'm not feeling particular charitable right now.Gloweye– Gloweye2023-06-09 10:49:42 +00:00Commented Jun 9, 2023 at 10:49
- 10Interestingly, the public availability of the data was a main reason I choose to contribute to stack exchange in the first place. If that's not just a delay, I might request deletion of all my contributions.miku– miku2023-06-09 14:23:10 +00:00Commented Jun 9, 2023 at 14:23
- 14@miku You don't have an option to delete your contributions, you've already licensed them out (and the terms don't give you any option for revocation). Future contributions you can decide on, though.Bryan Krause– Bryan Krause2023-06-09 14:37:54 +00:00Commented Jun 9, 2023 at 14:37
- 10Jody has responded in an answer below. I've updated the status to planned.Rosie– Rosie StaffMod2023-06-09 18:27:10 +00:00Commented Jun 9, 2023 at 18:27
- 5@DataDude Acceptance, here, would be for visibility. It's important for people to be able to see the official answer. (Answer quality is what votes are for.)wizzwizz4– wizzwizz42023-06-10 00:52:43 +00:00Commented Jun 10, 2023 at 0:52
- 10@Rosie what does the status planned mean here though? That the data dumps would be released in some form, or SE is digging in its heels and there will be serious restrictions to access by the community that has contributed all the content that's actually in the dump?Journeyman Geek– Journeyman Geek Mod2023-06-10 08:28:46 +00:00Commented Jun 10, 2023 at 8:28
- 4As much as such things exist and can be dated, Jun 9, 2023 was the end of Web 2.0 as we know it with the Reddit CEO's AMA and this post. It's a pity. It was a good run, I guess.chx– chx2023-06-10 23:02:19 +00:00Commented Jun 10, 2023 at 23:02
- 17Alternatively, you could rephrase this to be the actual statement, with additional info and prompt for questions, Q&A style. Thomas Owens and kaya3 had on-point concerns that probably could be expanded here, rather than a self-answer that is a mirror of another question.Sébastien Renauld– Sébastien Renauld2023-06-13 23:04:22 +00:00Commented Jun 13, 2023 at 23:04
- 9I don't understand the strategy of opening up or not opening up of new questions by the company. Sometimes they hijack their old questions and update them with new information, now they open up a new question with the same content as an old question. They should know how this Q&A system is supposed to work.NoDataDumpNoContribution– NoDataDumpNoContribution2023-06-14 04:15:51 +00:00Commented Jun 14, 2023 at 4:15

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. stack-overflow), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
