You have two main ways to get live wallpapers and animated backgrounds on Windows 7/8/10/11. Each of these options lets you add your own backgrounds or those made by others.

AutoWall (Free)

Lively (Free, Recommend)

Let’s look at each of these options in turn.

AutoWall

About:

Using open-source wallpaper engine.
The simplest software to turn videos, GIFs, and websites into live wallpapers on Windows 7/8/10/11.

Features:

– Portable version (ready to use, no installation required).
– Browse your gif or video files.
– Reset button to reverse all and delete config files.
– Set your wallpaper on windows startup.

Current Issues:

Video scaling, probably can’t be solved. You need videos in the correct resolution(s) of your screen.
This software has only been tested on Windows 10 and may not be fully compatible with other Windows versions. It generally works on Windows 7/8/11; however, some features may be unavailable.

Try the Wallsflow New Tab extension. It works in any browser, including macOS and Windows.
