On Saturday I posted a photo of a pile of fabric and a cup of coffee with the sun shining. My plan was to cut all that fabric up.
By the time I did the blog post and watched My Hero finish taking down the Christmas tree (I know! I’m spoiled!) it was noon. I decided before I hit the sewing room, I’d better be an adult and start laundry.
Oh. My. Goodness. I had laundry. That led to cleaning up other stuff and before I knew it, it was late afternoon. I was cold and so sleepy, so My Hero and I each hit one end of the couch and fell asleep for a little bit. I got up a bit later and made dinner, which smelled so good!
And then I proceeded to get the stomach flu. It’s not the nasty flu that’s going around and knocking people out for a week at a time., thank goodness! By Sunday morning I was feeling well enough to knit, but that was about it. And I had a specific project in mind. I had to dig through a couple of drawers but I found it!
I’d seen that the Pantone color of the year for 2013 is Emerald, and I’d started the perfect project…in March of 2011.

This is the Shrine Road Shawl by Tanis Gray. I’m using Miss Babs Yowza, which I love!!!
I spent the entire day watching a Property Brothers marathon and knitting on this shawl. I was pretty bored by the end of the day, but I just didn’t feel well enough to do anything else.
Today I finished laundry and did most of the cutting for my new quilt project. Hopefully I’ll have a bunch of blocks to show off by the end of the week because Thursday and Friday are set aside for a quilt retreat!
I also need to introduce you to the newest member of the Crazy family.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to Fitzgerald the Hedgehog. He’s Frankie’s Christmas present. He’s been pretty shy and he’s nocturnal so Frankie is having to work pretty hard to win his trust, but we’re getting there. A lot of the time, he’s rolled up in a prickly little ball, but at night he runs on his wheel in his cage.
And now, since it’s 1:30 AM and I’m not supposed to be nocturnal, I’m going to go enjoy my freshly laundered sheets!
‘“The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace.”’
