The answers are different, of course, but there are still some similarities. It should be another interesting thing to read about! (I didn't search but there should be some questions about this on some of the stackexchange sites)

(At least for propellers in air). Propellers of ships or Kaplan turbine propellers cover almost the entire circle. (Independent of number of blades)
