    $\begingroup$ Intellectual explanations are all well and good, but I urge you to get a long skipping rope (aka jump rope) and a friend to hold the other end, and make some waves in the rope, so you can watch and literally feel how they reflect. IMHO, this practical exercise will help to consolidate the theoretical understanding. And it's kinda fun to do. :) $\endgroup$ Commented Mar 8, 2021 at 11:33
