WordPress Origin Story

I started working with WordPress back in 2007. The templating system just clicked for me – it was intuitive and gave me the freedom to adapt existing themes to my needs. Over time, this not only led me to developing my own themes, but also to gradually focusing my business more and more around WordPress.

In 2016, I attended my first WordCamp in Nuremberg and was immediately impressed by the open, welcoming community. I left inspired (Thanks Sven & Helge) to get more involved and, together with others, founded the WordPress Meetup in Mannheim in 2017. It’s been a great journey ever since.
