So what does an early adopter like me do? :( The market here is in high demand for programming talent, but only full time. Even 80% is almost universally denied.

Start your own business, if you are creative. Don't be too focussed on programming. Smart people are needed everywhere.

This (and gd1's comment on the question) are the only answers that get to the root of the issue. And the solution to the problem is: MORE WOMEN IN PROGRAMMING.
