But you have to be skilled to write good code, since it is quite free and has some quirks do to backwards compatibility. I think it is well suited for all kind of software except scripting, actually. The problem is the learning curve. With modern libraries it is very competent even at productivity. And think that if the app is successful, you must port it. Porting is easier with C/C++ codebases, do to compiler availability. The list of software written in C++ is endless: amazon, google, dropbox, telecom, games, facebook... | |
