Jul 13, 2011 at 22:57 comment added lurscher closed as "too localized", my god, moderators really got it wrong with this one
Apr 28, 2011 at 23:29 comment added Danny Varod I voted to migrate. How is this localized to any region in the space-time-continuum or be considered a narrow situation? - Many programmers I know have experienced this (and the many voters and answerers seem to agree).

Jun 10, 2010 at 7:44 comment added Jeff @Ismail, reading blogs or google around and self learning has nothing to do with this company. As you said it's something we as programmers all do.

Jun 4, 2010 at 10:27 comment added IsmailS Don't you think you learned more in this company in the sense that it made you read lot of blogs, Google around and self learn. Because that is what most of us do a lot. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong on previous statement.

Nov 7, 2009 at 6:03 comment added wentbackward @jeffrey, it has always been the case you need to differentiate yourself to stand out. I don't see many programmers that are that good. A lot of time, good is perception .. the-one-eyed-man-in-the-land-of-the-blind
Nov 7, 2009 at 6:00 comment added wentbackward Programming takes a long time to master and most people chase the money and glory, playing corporate politics. norvig.com/21-days.html Here, here for the supposed senior programmers. I'm on the other side of the fence, after 20+ yrs. I have to hire these people and it's not often you find someone that can really claim to be a senior programmer. Most of these people have hardly completed their first year 5 times, not the same as 5 years building and growing.

Nov 6, 2009 at 8:09 comment added Jeff It's only because now days it's so easy to be good at something, but most often being good at something isn't gonna cut anymore, you have to be extremely good at what you do but throughout my experience I've seen pretty much 2 people max who are great at what they do.
