Our customers deploy a new version only carefully, typically every 3 years. Our support duration is about 3-4 years. If a customer comes to us with a bug report for their version from 2021, we can find that it was resolved in a subsequent version from 2022, and then we can (a) advise the customer to upgrade and/or (b) decide to retrofit the fix in the branch they're using. But we couldn't do that if the bug-fix information from 2022 had been erased. | |
