Quilter Bees

just want to give a shout out to a recently opened fabric shop http://www.HawthorneThreads.com . They just had a giveaway for their grand opening and guess what? I won!! I never win anything so this was very exciting for me. I just received my package of 13 beautiful fat quarters of the Pear Palette of Sandi Henderson Meadowsweet Collection. hmm, I wonder what pattern i should make? or perhaps you all will see this fabric in your mailboxes in late january…

So, just to make sure I’m not out of the loop here, is there no Novemebr block?  I have not received any fabrics and it has been awfully quiet around here these days!

Hi Everyone! I’ve been checking and checking and nobody is posting anything here. I think we’re all mad-busy with work, school, family, Halloween candy overload… I know I haven’t touched my sewing machine in weeks, I just keep looking at it longingly.

http://makesomething.ca/ A  Toronto-based girl who owns a sewing shop — both machines to rent in-situ and fabric — and she has lots of great tips on her site. It’s mostly fashion, but some quilting too. I recently bought a Japanese dress book and I cannot wait to use it!!!

http://acardaday.wordpress.com/ One of my newest finds. This British ex-pat makes pretty quilts.

http://naptimequilter.blogspot.com/ Some of you might follow Naptime Quilter already, but she’s another Canadian mum who sews and cooks and blogs. She has some great tutorials and design tips.
