- 1This is more complete than my semi-compiled answer. Source for the info?dave– dave2024-10-31 18:35:22 +00:00Commented Oct 31, 2024 at 18:35
- 9@dave From the regular user manual. There are scans for the HRN-14LR on schematicsforfree.com in the Monitors - CRT subfolder in the Video folder. The first file you'll find is the user manual and the second file is the same service manual you were looking at.David– David2024-10-31 18:44:09 +00:00Commented Oct 31, 2024 at 18:44
- 1Is that an "approximation of the number of vertical scanlines" or simply a number the manufacturer arbitrarily chose to correlate with the number of scanlines?Amazon Dies In Darkness– Amazon Dies In Darkness2024-11-01 07:34:44 +00:00Commented Nov 1, 2024 at 7:34
- 4This may ponder into a separate question (which I don't have time to write at the moment), but I wonder, what was the use of this? Why was this such an important info that it warranted a separate display showing it all the time?Neinstein– Neinstein2024-11-01 14:49:07 +00:00Commented Nov 1, 2024 at 14:49
- 3@Neinstein Marketing: It looks complicated and has nerd appeal. Some high-end displays even had a mini LCD in the bezel that displayed this information and did the same thing as modern on-screen displays in adjusting settings.user71659– user716592024-11-02 17:24:30 +00:00Commented Nov 2, 2024 at 17:24

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. ms-dos), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
