  • UUCP makes some sense in some "unusual" circumstances e.g. huge transfers over link with "per (mega) byte" tariff and cheaper overnight rates, ships capable to use costly "deep sea" links, cheap near cost mobile links and WIFi in ports, … .   • @AnFi I think it's still used for email links where there is no Internet. It's done using flash drives. It's almost like postal delivery of electronic mail... slow, but it works. Commented May 9, 2018 at 15:36
