- 4\$\begingroup\$ @MarkWells It says the spell is stored in the glyph, so I think it can reasonably be extrapolated that the spell is released from the glyph's position when triggered. \$\endgroup\$Ryan C. Thompson– Ryan C. Thompson2019-10-21 23:17:52 +00:00Commented Oct 21, 2019 at 23:17
- 1\$\begingroup\$ What about spells that have a range of self? Would those work with your "12,000 miles away" trigger? \$\endgroup\$smbailey– smbailey2020-07-10 19:48:42 +00:00Commented Jul 10, 2020 at 19:48
- \$\begingroup\$ Agreed: Spells with a Range of Self seem problematic. Since the spell glyph treats the triggering creature as the target if (& only if) the spell has a target (what spells don't?), & the glyph is a proxy for the caster for the purposes of determining who the caster is, the glyph or the glyph's caster could be the Self affected when a creature fulfills the trigger, if spells with a Range of Self, are indeed ruled to be the spells that don't have a target implied by Glyph's wording. Are there spells that don't have a target, if not spells with a range of Self? \$\endgroup\$ProphetZarquon– ProphetZarquon2024-06-11 00:25:33 +00:00Commented Jun 11, 2024 at 0:25

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- Make sure you include the system tag for the game system you are asking about (if appropriate and if the tag exists).
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. dnd-5e-2014), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
