\$\begingroup\$ I came in here ready to write something about "is there ever a reason a player would choose this over something else or vice-versa" and "thematic cohesion", etc. but this is pure elegance in its simplicity. \$\endgroup\$ Commented Oct 9, 2021 at 16:25

\$\begingroup\$ @minnmass I think that sort of answer would be valuable here. Everyone approaches the game differently, and if you have a more systematic approach to homebrew, it would great to add that. I personally don’t really have any method besides playtesting, I very much go by “how does this feel”, drawing on my experience playing other classes or using other features, during the drafting phase of homebrew. \$\endgroup\$ Commented Oct 9, 2021 at 16:41
