Even when the tentacle whip is given a value of 8,000 gp, that's its value in the equivalent of treasure. Magic of Eberron says that symbionts "are not as readily available [as magic items]. Symbionts can be found and recovered as treasure, or encountered as creatures and acquired that way" (154). That makes buying the DM pizza the easiest way to get a tentacle whip. Also, can the tentacle be made more magical? | |

Magical flight is problematic (can't be tripped), and teleportation by-passes it entirely, but there's just not much that can be done about that. That said, cross-class UMD and partially-charged wands, really? That leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. | |
