Your answer may be pedantically correct, but observationally, in June 2019 I find many newspaper sites are extremely accurate in determining when I have private/incognito mode on. | |

You can only guess as to whether the user has privacy features enabled or is actually using a private browsing mode. It's possible for a browser to be configured just as in private browsing mode permanently as well, in which case what of the question? | |
