@PeterK. I just read through the introduction to that article, but It doesn't seem to contradict the sentiment of this answer. Care to point me to a specific part of it, or to summarize the article?

Donald Knuth is famous for many things, many of which call into the category of "stirring" or being deliberately contentious - perhaps in order to get people to think.
