- If you're not tied to a particular DB you might want to look at something like RavenDB.Derek Beattie– Derek Beattie2012-04-08 20:50:43 +00:00Commented Apr 8, 2012 at 20:50
- I'm not really averse to using MSSQL, we should be able to migrate bits of it, so we can just scale using Standard Edition, which EC2 supports at a relatively decent rate. Probably would look to Mongo or Couch before Raven, any reason to go for Raven first?Chris Barry– Chris Barry2012-04-09 21:26:28 +00:00Commented Apr 9, 2012 at 21:26
- 1One thing to consider is what you are wanting out of code first. Are you really going for defining your tables in code and having that create the database, or is it the POCO aspect of EF 4.3 that you want? The reason I ask is that you could use POCOs and DbContext with Database First or Model First (you can create a custom T4 to gen the POCOs from your model). The reason I ask is because I sometimes see people writing about "code first", when the thing that they are really after working with POCO/DbContext.JMarsch– JMarsch2012-04-13 16:30:10 +00:00Commented Apr 13, 2012 at 16:30

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. python-3.x), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
