- +1. I've seen pretty impressive things done with messaging (things like animation and whatnot), so the performance should be good.Vladislav Zorov– Vladislav Zorov2012-04-09 14:06:52 +00:00Commented Apr 9, 2012 at 14:06
- 1So, you say that I need to implement a whole paradigm to get a basic functionality like a select category items form category list ? Or I need to utilize a whole framework to get it working ?sinkien– sinkien2012-04-09 14:57:32 +00:00Commented Apr 9, 2012 at 14:57
- The messaging and framework are for cross view model communication or for communication from view to view model not for simple binding. In MVVM Light you can take just the parts you would like to use and implement them but using a messaging paradigm that's already created for you makes a lot of sence instead of creating your own publisher/subscriber model and implementing that. You don't need to implement the entire framework if you don't want to, however, you will likely save a lot of time by implementing a frameworkErick– Erick2012-04-09 15:27:48 +00:00Commented Apr 9, 2012 at 15:27
- For what I understand - Framework is a way to go for something more sophisticated. But in my opinion, using it in my scenario is like taking a battle tank for killing an ant ;) . I will take a closer look at MVVM Light framework, it seems powerfull - thanks for a tipsinkien– sinkien2012-04-09 16:47:10 +00:00Commented Apr 9, 2012 at 16:47

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. python-3.x), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
