    @Kyle—jQuery does not parse XML, it uses the client's built–in parser (if there is one). Therefore you do not need jQuery to do it, but as little as two lines of plain old JavaScript. If there is no built–in parser, jQuery will not help. Commented Oct 31, 2013 at 6:25
