  • The reason I was asking is because if someone has the ability to screw with the system clock, they can do whatever they like on the local system in order to subvert your application. If you can't trust System.currentTime, you can't trust any times the system gives you, and a remote source is really the only option. Commented Dec 21, 2009 at 0:40
