The problem with this method is that it doesn't look at the timezone: Sys.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.deserialize("\"\\/Date(1221644506800+0200)\\/\"") Will results the same as: Sys.Serialization.JavaScriptSerializer.deserialize("\"\\/Date(1221644506800+0300)\\/\"")
