doesn't seem to work. I get a date at the begining of the timestamp era.

It is important to understand that you need to do a $my_t["year"] -= 1970 to get the correct number of years. You also need to subtract your hour difference from GMT to get the hours right. You need to subtract 1 from month and date as well.
