  • Basically I see it like this: you're defining overloads for getting and setting the property, and these overloads are functions; but, you don't have to call them. This way you can replace a = setValue(5); with a = 5; and setValue() would thereby be called under the hood to do whatever you like. Commented Jul 24, 2019 at 15:11
